Evaluator® S5-APU test rig

FuelCon launched new generation of SOFC test rigs
FuelCon has developed and recently launched, a new generation of their Evaluator® test rigs, specifically targeted towards the testing needs of fuel cell auxiliary power units (APU). The fuel cell APU plays an important role within the development strategies of leading car and aircraft manufactures.

The test rigs allow performance tests of APU components like stack, reformer, exhaust heat exchanger and the after burner as well as the improvement of the dynamic and static behavior of the complete APU system within cars, buses or trucks.

Some of the key performance features of these new test rigs include a dynamic high-temperature gas supply, a supply module for liquid fuels, and an integrated thermal after burner. The system interfaces are designed for the integration of standardized R&D tools like simulation software or hardware-in-the-loop systems.

According to CEO, Dr. Ingo Benecke, FuelCon has already acquired some orders for the delivery of such test rigs to premium customers within the car and aircraft industry who have established themselves as market leaders for fuel cell test systems. “We are proud of the technical sophistication and level of integration and automation designed into this equipment, and honored by our customers continued interest in FuelCon as a supplier of SOFC test rigs.” Dr. Benecke further commented.
