Successful launch of FuelCon’s TrueData-EIS at the Hanover Fair
At the Hanover Fair 2005 FuelCon introduced several new technical innovations, which generated a great deal of interest among the numerous industry experts that visited their booth. In particular, the impedance analyser TrueData-EIS integrated into their single cell test station Evaluator C050 was one of the most interesting product presentations at this trade show.

Using the single sine technique the TrueData-EIS provides precise measurement of the real and the imaginary part of the test item impedance along with the phase angle of the test item between 10mHz and 50kHz. Its fully digital design assures high accuracy measurement and easy integration into automated test systems. The graphical user interface allows rapid navigation through its logical menu system. The integration of the TrueData-EIS automated impedance analysis into long duration test runs of either; PEM, DMFC or SOFC single cells will allow for a dramatic reduction in test effort and more accurate, reproducible results.

With additional innovations such as in-line methanol sensors for measuring and controlling methanol concentration in DMFC test stations or the quickConnect single cell fixture for providing reproducible cell assembly forces, FuelCon is maintaining its position as the innovation pace-maker of fuel cell testing tools and systems. According to FuelCon’s CTO, Dr. Ingo Benecke, all of the company’s product innovations are a result of market demand analysis which is driven by the fuel cell industry’s need for cost reduction and greater reproducibility of test results.
